Headteacher's message - wishing you a very happy summer!
Dear Parents and Carers,
Wow, what an end to the school year!
As I reflect on the fantastic achievements of this year, I am once again struck by how busy and rewarding it has been in so many different ways.
While we anticipated our recent Ofsted inspection following last year's, we didn't expect it to be so close to the end of the academic year! This, as you can imagine, made an already busy week even busier.
Firstly, we are always incredibly proud of our school, and although an inspection in the final week of term is challenging on many levels, it provided a wonderful opportunity to showcase how amazing our school is and how wonderful our children are. We were extremely proud of how everyone came together, with your support, to celebrate and share our school's successes. We also can’t put into words how important your comments of support and kindness were at the school gate during the visit. We look forward to sharing the outcomes of the inspection with you towards the end of September or early October.
Reflecting on this year - what an extraordinary year we have had! Our children have participated in some exceptional opportunities throughout the year, both academically and personally. From exciting educational experiences and numerous educational visits (both onsite and offsite) to a multitude of sporting fixtures and tournaments, as well as enrichment days and weeks. These are just some of the experiences that make our school great and ensure our children have the most amazing school experiences.
We have an exceptionally dedicated team at Claverdon who always go above and beyond for our children. We also have a very supportive school community, inspired by the Friends of Claverdon, who also go above and beyond to support our school. We couldn't do this without you, and the support of our families is greatly appreciated, as it helps us add those little extras that make our school great. A big thank you for all the help and support you give us.
As always, the end of the year brings change. We see our Year 6 children move on to the next stage of their educational careers, and we wish them every success in the future. We also say goodbye to Mrs Dennis and Mrs Bowden-Williams, who, in the short time they have been with us, have been truly amazing. They are highly respected members of the school team, and we wish them well as they embark on the next stage of their professional careers and personal lives. We also welcome Miss Robbins and Mr Oakley, who have joined our team and are excited to begin working in our amazing school.
Finally, thank you for your support over the past year. Working together as one school community, creating an inspiring, vibrant and enjoyable place to both learn and work, gives us all a sense of pride and belonging. This cannot be achieved without the community spirit that we have. Combined, these lay the foundations for our school's success.
On behalf of everyone at Claverdon, we wish you a very happy summer break and look forward to welcoming you back in September.
With our warmest best wishes,
Mr Dan Powell
