HarleyYear 1
Harley
This week’s star of the week in Year 1 is Harley.
We have been so impressed with Harley's sounding out using his knowledge of phonemes. He has practised his spellings so brilliantly at home that he has not only been able to spell them for the test, but has also implemented his knowledge of the new sounds he is learning into all aspects of his learning. In our reading group this week, Harley has been able to read independently with super expression. Harley also listens very well and tries to implement new learning. Whilst junk modelling this week, Harley used a technique that he was sown straight away to bond two items together. His attitude is excellent and he really is our shining star this week.
Well done, Harley!

SophieYear 2
Sophie
We have been really proud of Sophie and her dedication to learning this week. Sophie has blown us away with her confidence related to reading. She has been trying incredibly hard to infer emotions by reading between the lines of a text. Sophie has also been amazing during our Nativity rehearsals, really 'getting into character' and helping others learn their lines.

AlfieYear 3
Alfie
Our Star of the Week this week is Alfie.
Alfie is a most polite, kind and thoughtful member of the class. He always tries his best with his learning and enjoys making contributions to class discussions. Not only is Alfie a most supportive learning partner, he is also someone who would work well with, and be supportive of, anyone in the class. You have settled well into Year Three Alfie.
We are very proud of you!

JackYear 4
Jack
Our Year 4 Star of the week is Jack. Jack is a fantastic learner and epitomises the 4R's. He always gives his best in lessons, and is a super role model to everyone in the class. This week, Jack has blown us all away with his suspense story. Not only was it full of the skills we had been learning in class, it also reflected Jack’s own love of reading, which shone through in his writing.
Keep going Jack, you are incredibly talented and we can't wait to see what else you can do in Year 4!

ConorYear 5
Conor
The Year 5 star of the week this week is Conor. Conor has settled into year 5 very well and gives his all both socially and academically. Conor demonstrates our R's every day showing responsibility in class for any jobs he may be given, but also recently demonstrating a growing pride and focus on the presentation of his work, which is brilliant to see!
We know how successful Conor is on the sporting field, but it is great to see him show leadership qualities when given tasks around school or when helping his peers, this was particularly noticeable during the RE this week when we worked on a group task and he made various fantastic contributions for his group.
Finally, Conor has really shown his growth mindset and resilience in his writing this year, pushing himself constantly to be the best he can be when it is not necessarily his favourite subject.
We are so proud of you Conor!

Olivia's attitude towards school life is exceptional. Olivia - we are so proud of the way in which you have started Year 6: you are embracing all of the challenges in class and your enthusiasm towards our new powerful knowledge is inspiring for everyone. For that, thank you. Another big thank you is for everything you do around school - you look out for other pupils and you are already starting to do an awesome job in the library. A huge well done... keep up your excellent start!
