UNICEF FUNDAISING DAY - Friday 24th May

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are writing to inform you about an upcoming event that we are very excited about... and we hope you will join us in supporting this worthy cause!

As you may know, Claverdon Primary School is committed to promoting the rights of children both locally and globally... and we do all we can to embrace our role as global citizens. In line with this commitment, our Fundraising Day on Friday 24th May will be dedicated to supporting UNICEF's vital work in assisting children affected by war and conflict around the world.

The inspiration for this event comes from the incredible dedication of our Rights Ambassadors, who have been working tirelessly to raise awareness of children's rights. We believe that it is essential for our children to understand the impact of war and conflict on children's lives and the potential role we can take in making a positive difference.

The activities planned for the day will include:

  1. Philosophy for Children Discussions: Exploring the concept of conflict and discussing how we can contribute to peace and make a difference in the lives of children affected by war.
  2. Letter Writing Campaign: Each class will have the opportunity to write letters to changemakers, raising awareness of children's rights issues resulting from war and conflict.
  3. Collaborative Poetry or Poster work: Students will work together across year groups to create poems or posters promoting peace and solidarity.

We kindly ask for your support in making this fundraising day a success. We are asking all children to wear non-uniform with a blue item of clothing to show our support of UNICEF. We are requesting a donation of £2 per child, which will go directly to UNICEF to support their vital work. If you wish to contribute more, you are welcome to do so, as every donation makes a difference.

To make your donation, please check School Gateway for the ‘UNICEF Fundraising – War and Conflict’ payment option. The payment option will be live until Monday 27th May.

Your generosity and support are greatly appreciated, and we are confident that together, we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of children affected by war and conflict.

Thank you for your continued support,

Mr Tyler
