WELCOME to Claverdon Primary School
On behalf of the children, staff and governors of Claverdon Primary School, I would like to welcome you to our website.
We hope that this gives you an insight into life at our school.
We are proud to be a Rights Respecting School committed to learning and raising awareness of children’s rights and embracing our roles as global citizens – we believe we must play our part in getting the world’s to-do list done. Throughout our curriculum, our learning environment and in our daily conversations, the language of the Rights of the Child is embedded in all that we do.
We are located in the village of Claverdon, surrounded by open countryside. We have approximately 200 enthusiastic learners on roll organised into 7 single-year classes and 4 houses. Our houses are named after surrounding areas: Kington, Holywell, Gannaway and Yarningale.
At Claverdon, we believe that it is a privilege to support children to achieve their full potential as they start their journey through education. Our aim is to prepare them for an ever-changing world and enable them to become life-long learners committed to make a genuine difference to the world.
This journey begins with our mission:
‘To inspire a passion for discovery, recognising diversity, effort and creative thinking within a nurturing environment.’
We take great pride in our school and enjoy sharing our learning with visitors. If you would like to see us in action then please do contact us to arrange a visit.
With very best wishes,
Mr Daniel Powell
Head Teacher
